Module 2 Me, my parents and my friends

Miss Li: Please welcome Betty and Tony to our school. They are from Beijing International School. This is Betty.

Betty: Hello. My name’s Betty. I’m from America. I’m 13 years old and I’m a student. I can play

football and I can play basketball. I can speak English, but I can’t speak Chinese. This is Tony. He’s my friend.

Tony: Hello. My name’s Tony. I’m 11years old. I’m from England and I can speak English. I can play football and table tennis, and I can ride a bike. Lingling: Can you swim.

Tony: No, I can’t. And I can’t speak Chinese.

Module 3 My new school

In our school, there are 20 students in a class. In my classroom, there’s a blackboard and there are 22 desks.

There are 46 students in my class. That’s 24 boys and 22 girls. No, that’s not right. There are 25 boys and 21 girls. There are 48 desks.

Are there any computers on your desks? Is there a computer on Miss Li’s desk?

No, there isn’t. There isn’t a computer on Miss Li’s desk. And there aren’t any computers on our desks. Are there any computers in your classroom? No, there aren’t.

Module 4 My family

A: How many people are there in your family?

B: There are four—my mum and dad, my sister Linda, and me. I haven’t got any brothers. A: Have you got any aunts or uncles?

B: My dad’s got a brother and a sister. My mum’s got a brother, but she hasn’t got a sister. So I’ve got one aunt and two uncles. And I’ve got four grandparents

Module 5 Healthy food

A: Have we got any juice?

B: Yes,we’ve got some juice. We haven’t got any milk. A: Have we got any carrots?

B: Yes, we’ve got some carrots. Have we got any meat. A: No, we haven’t. have we got any melons?

B: Yes, we’ve got some melons. We haven’t got any apples.

Module 6 An invitation to the cinema

Daming: Would you like to go to the cinema with Betty and me? It’s Jackie Chan, and he’s my favourite film star.

Tony: That’s a great idea! Let’s go with Lingling, too. When is it? Daming: It’s in the afternoon and in the evening.

Tony: Let’s go in the evening. Would you like to go to a football match on Sunday? It’s Manchester United , my favourite team. Daming: That’s a good idea.

Module 7 My school day

Daming: What day is it today?

Betty: It is Friday. What are your lessons today?

Daming: Today, we have Chinese at eight o’clock . We have science at nine o’clock and we have maths at ten o’clock. I like maths.

Lingling: I don’t like maths! We have chemistry at half past eleven. We don’t have science today. In the afternoon, I have art at half past one and I have an English lesson at half past two. What about you, Betty?

Betty: We have English at nine o’clock and science at half past ten. Lingling: And in the afternoon.

Betty: We have art and history. I love history. It’s my favourite lesson. Module 8 Different habits

It’s Tony’s birthday on Saturday. We usually send him a birthday card. Let’s send him a birthday card. And we often make a cake for his birthday. Yes. Let’s make a cake. He loves cakes. OK, and what about a birthday present? Let’s give him a computer game.

No, he never plays computer games. He often listens to music. Let’s give him a CD. He often watches football. Let’s go to a football match on Saturday.

No, we usually play basketball on Saturday, and we always go to a football match on Sunday. OK,let’s have a birthday party.

Module 9 A trip to the zoo

The kangaroo comes from Australia, the polar bear from the Arctic, and the wolf from Europe. Let’s go and see a tiger. Does the tiger come from Europe?

No, it doesn’t. It comes from Asia. The tiger eats meat. Does the polar bear eat meat?

Yes, it does. It eats meat and it likes to swim.

Is there a panda? The panda is my favourite animal.
